Where In The World Are The Distinguished Gentlemen WRB005

Tonight’s episode is entitled “Where in the World are the Distinguished Gentlemen” We will be featuring two musicians, Ben Valasek from Ben Valasek and the Growlers and Erik Winger from ECHO.

I had a chance to catch up with these guys over the phone as well as former member Sean Taladay of our previous A cappella group the “Distinguished Gentlemen.”

We’re featuring a few tracks from our show at the former Ford City High School in Ford City, PA on January 6, 1996 and also featuring tracks from Ben’s new album entitled “Musky” and Erik’s group “ECHO” from Orlando, Florida.

I’m also giving you another edition of “This Day In Music.”

I have been writing and recording music for roughly 20 years. I got my start as a young child listening to my mother sing and play guitar and sitting by the large console stereo listening to records with her. I then began to teach myself how to sing and became a vocalist in many a cappella groups such as the “Distinguished Gentlemen” and “Common Ground,” in which we performed across the Mid-Atlantic Region in such cities as Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, Cleveland and placed 4th at the National Harmony Sweepstakes at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. We had the pleasure of sharing the stage with such legendary groups as “The Monkeys,” “The Marcells,” “The Tymes,” “The Vogues” and “The Contours.” I run the Weekly RockBlog podcast.
