The Shadow Event

Episode 494 features Christina from The Shadow Event: Some post punk, new wave, groove trip for ya. We’ll take you for a ride with every different song. Powerful, fun, eerie, sexy and cute, The Shadow Event is fronted by Christina Santavicca. She creeps and crawls and is in your face with her stage presence, vocals and keys. Sick guitar work ambushes on in with the makings from Mark DiBello. Followed by the backline, Dave Burek has tasty bass lines and Mike Matjasko bringing in flavorful drums. Originating in the summer of 2016, The Shadow Event is still evolving, but the sound so far will be sure to entice your musical realm. A flavor for all.

What is The Crucible Project?

Originally forming in 2016 under the “Homegrown Hard Rock Showcase” moniker, The Crucible Project has blossomed into an organization that hosts a recurring monthly concert series, currently based out of The Funhouse at Mr. Smalls, with a focus on Pittsburgh and surrounding area-based rock/metal artists. Along with our partners Twist of Fate Productions, The Metal Edge, and First Angel Media, our goal is to showcase some of the best talent in the rock and metal communities that Pittsburgh has to offer. With an “artist first” approach and attention to detail, we strive to deliver an experience to both artists and fans that is nothing short of memorable.

  • How would you describe playing on the Iselin Community Park stage?
  • We discussed the storm, Doppler Affect, alcohol, and her puking out of the backseat of my car for a bit.
  • We talked about what bands should have been playing the rest of the night, but a blown transformer had actually ended the show, unbeknownst to us. The power came back on at approximately 4am.

Justin Wade is an eclectic Singer, Songwriter from Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. He is known for his diversity, range and connection with multiple genres which include Rock, Blues, Pop and New Age Country.

Justin has been making a name for himself on the music scene since 2012, collaborating with well-known artists such as TC Davis (TC Davis Band, The Sparrows), David Granati (The Granati Brothers, Toured with Van Halen) and Jay Wiley (The Hawkeyes).

Justin Wade’s first single 4 Wheels was released In April 2017, with his second Life On The Edge following in July 2017 and Your Name in August 2017.  His highly anticipated Ep album, Life On The Edge is avaliable now everywhere.

We just released the first 2 singles off of our upcoming album Story To Tell. The first, the albumn’s namesake, Story To Tell was released in October 2018.

The second, Woman, was just released in November 2018

Shrouded in Neglect


Shrouded In NeglectNate Kepner of Shrouded in Neglect made is first trip to the Pennsylvania Rock Show tonight, and yes ladies and gentleman, that means this is a metal show!

  • We talked about where the band name came from (this was a new one for me) and how the band formed.
  • We talked about a few other metal bands from the scene both early on and later in the show.
  • We moved on to Nate’s influences which include but are not limited to Michael Jackson and Justin Timberlake. (Okay maybe he mentions some metal bands and 90’s alternative bands, too).
  • We then talked a little bit about the local band skell and Rock for Life this past weekend.
  • Nate then tells us about his favorite local bands and we talked about our mutal friend at First Angel Media.

  • At the beginning of the second segment, Nate talks about searching the Pittsburgh bands to get some great new music.
